Innova has graduated the coveted Creative Destruction Lab (CDL-Rockies) program, and was voted one of the top two companies in the Energy Stream!

Innova's novel technology decomposes methane gas (CH4) into its constituent components of carbon (C) and hydrogen (2H2). It uses zero water and zero oxygen, and produces zero CO2, unlike other methods of hydrogen production, such as electrolysis (which uses 4 - 7x more energy) and steam methane reforming (which emits CO2 and requires costly post-combustion carbon capture and storage techniques).

Innova's process can use methane derived from conventional natural gas, or biogenic sources, and offers a 3-in-1 solution:

• Carbon capture: Prevents the combustion of methane gas and the release of harmful emissions into the atmosphere with pre-combustion carbon capture;

• Carbon utilization: Captures the carbon in the form of clean synthetic graphite, which has utility in a multitude of applications, such as energy storage and steel manufacturing; and

• Carbon reduction: Replaces the methane with clean hydrogen for heating and power generation, transportation, and industrial processes to reduce carbon emissions.
